In Taiwan – Day 6 (Part 3)

Bridge

Right after the temples by the lake/pond, we went to Love River. Nothing spectacular to mention about this bridge except for the lightnings on the surrounding of the bridge and as well as the sides of the river.

Cafe

A couple of shots (including group shots) and off we went to another place for a cup of coffee (and to chill).

Illuminated Trees

Illuminated Building

It used to be a British Consulate but now turned into a museum which exhibits some old British antiques. At the same time, there is cafe, named Pulsate, outside which caters foods and drinks.

Illuminated Trees

Doriyaki

We had some drinks and Doriyaki while chilling out (more like resting). About 45 mins or so, we headed back to Liu He Night Market to grab our dinner.

Mango Juice

Pork Rice

This time, we roughly knew what to eat and where to get them. So, there weren’t anything new except for the rice above.

Drinks

And yeah, we went back to our favourite fruit juice stall. Somehow, we treated it like a ‘yam cha’ place. Hehe. Oh yeah, the picture above depicted how much we drank per sitting.

Crossroads

We ended the day quite early as we need to head to another destination tomorrow.

Crafting

Right after our meal at McDonald’s, we went to a lake/pond whereby some of the beautiful temples were there. At first, we thought of walking to the destination. But after looking at the map (from the guidebook), we decided to take a cab instead (without any objections at all!!).

Twin Pagoda

Dragon Temple

Upon reaching there, the day began to be dark. But there were still a lot of tourists around. Our first stop was the ‘two pagodas’ with dragon and tiger statues in front of them respectively.

Tiger Temple

We took quite a number of shots around that temple and some pictures were rather… funny ‘devilish’. Right after that, we walked to another one which was situated nearby (also along the lake/pond).

Statue

Come to think of it, the lake/pond was rather huge. It was so huge that they can afford to host water ski (or something similar) event on that very same lake/pond.

Temple

We left that place once the skies turned dark… real dark at 5pm!!

In Taiwan – Day 6 (Part 1)

December 19th, 2008

Though we had a draft plan of our pit stops, we didn’t know what to do in the city itself. We had a vague idea what were the popular spots in each city. We had to do our homework on where to go each day or the night before. Hehe.

Kaohsiong City

And so, we woke up early and had our usual breakfast in nearby store before we proceeded with our tour. Of all types of breakfast, I somehow developed the love like affection towards the egg pancake.

Egg Pancake

Right after that, we walked around before we decided to head to…

National Science and Technology Museum

Yes. It is the National Science and Technology Museum. From the outside, it looks real big; bigger compare to that of our national museum. There are about 6 floors; divided to 2 sections. So, there are a total of 12 sections (or even more). There is even a 3D theater for films.

Museum

We showed our passport to get special rates as well as purchased tickets for a 3D short boring documentary film.  We had to check in our camera bags and all but were allowed to carry the cameras.

Clown Fish

We practically walked each and every section there was in the museum. From telecommunications to biological stuffs, foods to space science and manufacturing section.

Notebock

We did learn quite a few things about Taiwan’s history from there. We even learnt how to spell notebook in Taiwanese way. Hehe.

Fiber Optics

Then, we went to the mini cinema to watch a documentary film about a lion… in 3D. Good experience but the film was rather boring till the point I almost dozed off. Hungry and sleepy, we left the museum after the film in search for our late lunch. Our first sight was…

McDonald's

And off we went there without second thought. Haha.
